In our previous blog post we introduced you to our Activated Charcoal Soap and by now many of you have been enjoying the soap and have requested more!

So what exactly is activated charcoal?

Well, According to Medical News Today "Activated charcoal is not the same substance as that found in charcoal bricks or burnt pieces of food.  The manufacture of activated charcoal makes it extremely absorbent, allowing it to bind to molecules, ions, or atoms. In this way, it removes these from dissolved substances.  Making activated charcoal involves heating carbon-rich materials, such as wood, peat, coconut shells, or sawdust, to very high temperatures.  Activated charcoal is a fine black powder made from bone char, coconut shells, peat, petroleum coke, coal, olive pits or sawdust."   Huizen, Jennifer. Reviewed by "What are the benefits of activated charcoal. Medical News Today, July  27, 2018
